Discover Pamplemousses Royal Botanical Gardens and Port-Louis with its colourful market

Take in the Pamplemousses Botanical Garden, created by French naturalist Pierre Poivre in 1767, which houses more than 500 varieties of plants, Among these are the famous Victoria regia water lilies and 80 different varieties of palm trees. It also houses the funeral shrine of Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam, ‘the father of the nation’.

The trip continues to the island’s capital city, Port-Louis, where you will enjoy a panoramic view of the Champ de Mars racecourse and the City from the citadel.

You will also drive along Place d’Armes, and take in the Saint Louis Cathedral, the Supreme Court, the Municipal Theatre and Government House. Last but not least, is a stroll along the local market and the Caudan Waterfront with its many boutiques and a kaleidoscope of local life.
